| Binnacle Atop a stunning varnished teak pedestal, this unique binnacle houses the ship's Sestrel magnetic compass. The binnacle was custom built by a jeweller for the boat. |

| Deck The beautiful caulked deck is something of a work of art. Built with heavy 16mm teak planks, the perfectly symmetrical deck was pre-planned with rigging layout in mind. The detailing is superb and is a special and unusual feature on any sailing yacht. |

| Winches Copihue's primary winches - Lewmar 77s, are hydraulic units powered by a central Lewmar Commander powerpack. They are quiet and immensely strong, easily handling sheet loads when working to windward in heavy weather. |

| Galley The galley was designed with the cook, a veteran of many offshore passages in rough weather, to be functional and easy to work in. Designed to fit snugly around the cook, without trapping them in the event of a spillage, it is laid out with everything easily at hand. The Bosch combination electric oven and microwave was custom built with a Bosch 4 ring hob on top. The whole stove unit is of course gimballed. Another feature is the Quooker unit - a safety tap with up to 3 litres of boiling water on hand whenever it is required. Very handy for cups of tea on late night watches! |

| Chart table A very comfortable table that can house a full folio of Admiralty Charts. With CAN plotter and radar unit, Inmarsat C and M, VHF, SSB, GPS, Navtex and autopilot controls readily at hand, it is the nerve centre of communications and navigation. |

| Cockpit lockers Cavernous lockers swallow up folding bicycles, diving equipment, wine, stores, paint, spare anchors and anything else you care to throw in there. |

| Gas locker Concealed beneath the deck on the starboard side, the gas tight locker contains two 12 kg gas cylinders and can also store some oil and other sundries. In addition it is self-draining. |

| Outboard locker The outboard locker is gas tight and it means that unsightly outboards are not stowed on the pushpit, where they are prone to damage and theft. Shelving allows stowage of spare fuel cans, oil, etc. |

| Staysail track Custom built in stainless steel, the track is an engineering feat in its own right. It has to be built with allowances for sheer and deck camber. It works well, meaning only two people are required to tack the boat when under full sail. |

| Anchoring system The belt and braces anchoring arrangement has been tried and tested in some extreme conditions at high latitudes. With 110 metres of 14mm chain along with a 75 kilogram stainless steel plough anchor, the boat can anchor comfortably in deep water and in heavy winds, without the need to set another anchor or lose sleep with an anchor watch. |

| Rig Copihue's rig is both simple and immensely strong. The main mast stands nearly 30 metres above the waterline and is built from top grade aluminium. The standing rigging is solid aluminium rod, with a hydraulic vang and backstay tensioner. A slab reefing arrangement was chosen for optimal sailing performance and the North fully battened main is easily reefed in the toughest of conditions. |

| Sail plan The sails were all cut by North's Belgium loft and are made of spectra. The foresails both have ultra violet protection coatings when furled. The main is a fully battened sail with 2 deep reefs for simplicity. The main is hoisted on Fredriksen mast track batten cars. |

| Variable pitch propeller Mated to the main Caterpillar engine is a four bladed, 90 centimetre diameter propeller, made by Hundested. The blades are fully variable, enabling feathering when sailing as well as optimising the pitch of the propeller to suit engine revolutions and sea state. The controls are housed in a hidden locker in the helmsman's seat, along with the main engine start and stop controls. |

| Engine room A walk in engine room on a yacht of this size is rare indeed. Panelling can be removed on all sides to access the engine so as to carry out maintenance and routine checks. The generator, water-maker and the battery chargers are also contained within the engine room, which is extremely well damped for noise reduction. |

| Dive Compressor Contained in the forepeak is a Bauer compressor; used for refilling the diving bottles on board. This of course allows complete freedom to explore remote dive sites without the need to return to a diving centre to refill the tanks. |
